
Christina Sergeant has been active in Singapore theatre for over 25 years as an actress, director and teacher. She has received nominations for Best Actress and Best Director in the Life! Theatre Awards; Furthest North, Deepest South was awarded Best Production in 2005 and toured to the Sziget Festival in 2006. During her time as Artistic Director of STARS – Singapore’s largest community theatre – she co-created Youth Theatre Singapore that was Singapore’s first extended theatre training programme for youths aged 13-19.
Christina has conducted workshops in drama, mime and Commedia dell’Arte in the U.S., Asia, Europe and Africa. She was Artist-In-School at Raffles Girls’ School for three years and is a founding member and Vice-President of the Singapore Drama Educators Association.
She co-founded Actors Theatre Circle (ATC), a theatre company that focused on plays by and about women. ATC also toured Singapore schools with Read All About It, a theatre-in-education project based on Romeo and Juliet. Christina was also the Artistic Director of Mime Unlimited – Singapore’s only company that specialised in mime and physical theatre – which became a professional body in 2000 and operated until 2007.
