Yap Yit Siang graduated from the Nanyang Technological University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the National Institute of Education in 2003 where he was trained in teaching Physics, Elementary Mathematics and Additional Mathematics.
With a strong passion for teaching, Yit Siang constantly engages his students in classroom discussions. Over the years, he has guided many groups of students in various science-based projects and helped them through their participation in national and zonal competitons such as the Youth Science Conference. Yit Siang is patient with students and is dedicated to helping students with varied abilities understand scientific concepts as he constantly seeks to explain concepts through different perspectives to enhance understanding.
Yit Siang plays the guitar since his Junior College days and enjoys singing. He is an avid distance runner, having completed several marathons over the years.
