
A Public Service Commission (Teaching) scholar, Dominic graduated from National University of Singapore with a Bachelor Degree (Honours) in Science, majoring in Mathematics. To enrich his undergraduate studies experience, he spent a semester in University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA as an exchange student. He completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Education at National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University in 2004.
He started his teaching career as a Mathematics teacher in Serangoon Junior College. He then went to the former Training and Development Division, MOE (now known as the Academy of Singapore Teachers), with the focus to enhance the professional development of teachers. Subsequently, he spearheaded the set up of the Mathematics Department in a new school - Edgefield Secondary School.
Dominic believes that Math provides training to one’s mind, strengthening both analytical and critical thinking skills. In SOTA, he sees this complementing beautifully with the learning of Arts, which is outward expression of oneself.
