Raspal Kaur Dhillon received her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the National University of Singapore. She went on to attain a Diploma in Education and a Further Professional Diploma in Education from the National Institute of Education. She also holds a Diploma in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from the Regional English Language Centre (RELC).

Prior to joining SOTA, she headed the Department of English Language and Literature at Cedar Girls’ Secondary School and Paya Lebar Methodist Girls’ School (Secondary). As a Head of Department (HOD), she has vast experience in the areas of curriculum planning, teaching and learning, assessment, classroom management, and mentoring. Raspal has shared her experience with newly-appointed HODs at a workshop conducted by the Ministry of Education. She has also been an adjunct lecturer at the Singapore Polytechnic.

Raspal has a great passion and love for Literature. At the school level, she has organised many enrichment activities including a drama programme and learning journeys to England and prepared students for the Singapore Youth Festival (Drama) competition. She has also promoted the love for Literature at a national level. In 2004, she spearheaded the organisation of a seminar for Literature teachers in Singapore and shared on ‘Teaching the Unseen.’ In 2005, she promoted the value of teaching Literature at a sharing session on ‘Literature in Singapore Schools’ at the National Institute of Education. Raspal believes that Literature is the education of the mind and heart, and hopes to share her love for Literature with SOTA students.
