Dr Fang Woan Pin received her Doctorate of Education from Durham University, United Kingdom in 2005. Her area of research interest lies in the teaching and learning of economics, particularly on how students process abstract conceptual knowledge in economics learning. In 2001, she began her teaching career as a lecturer in Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. She was also an Associate Lecturer as well as the Course and Exam Chair of Economics and Economic Change (Microeconomics/Macroeconomics) at School of Business, SIM University, Singapore. Prior to joining SOTA, she taught economics in Raffles Junior College (current Raffles Institution).

Dr Fang is passionate about promoting a research culture in schools to enhance the learning experience of students. In keeping abreast with current educational issues, she regularly attends local and international teaching seminars and conferences. Dr Fang enjoys travelling and reading, especially on issues relating to foreign language education and intercultural studies.
