Benjamin Tay earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. After completing his education in Canada, Benjamin kick started his career in the financial industry and recently returned to Singapore from Hong Kong. Having spent some time overseas, Benjamin decided to return to Singapore to share his knowledge and experiences with future generations as an educator.
Benjamin has always had a passion for the arts. He was a pioneering member in Anglo Chinese School (Barker Road)’s first Chinese Orchestra where he and fellow musicians helped to clinch the Orchestra’s first silver medal at the Singapore Youth Festival (1996). Benjamin still plays the Er-hu during his free time and hopes to pursue his interest in Chinese Orchestral music in the future.
Prior to joining SOTA, Benjamin was working for an investment banking consultancy firm in Hong Kong.
