Chew Wee Ling graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Zoology.
Her interest in Outdoor Education started when she attended an experiential learning programme while working as a flight attendant with Singapore Airlines. It sparked her interest in using the outdoors as a tool to generate learning. Wee Ling was a Deputy Head of Outward Bound Professional, and was in charge of curriculum design, and delivery of safe and quality experiential learning programmes. She also assists the Head of Department to mentor and train new trainers.
Having facilitated experiential learning programmes for over 1000 participants in her ten years of service with Outward Bound Singapore, Wee Ling possesses rich practical experience and knowledge in this field. As a facilitator, Wee Ling strives to create a balanced learning environment for the participants, which is sheltered enough for them to share their experiences in a safe environment while taking them out of their comfort zones.
In 2006, she represented Outward Bound Singapore as a senior facilitator at an international programme in Outward Bound Germany. Her sterling performance led to a subsequent request for her to be part of the programme again the following year.
Wee Ling received the People’s Association Merit Staff Award in 2009 for quality work performance and commitment to the mission of Outdoor Education.
