Heidi Nicole Stoeckley was a former professional dancer with the Martha Graham Dance Company, where she performed such roles as The Chorus in Cave of the Heart, The Pioneering Woman in Appalachian Spring, The Woman in White in Diversion of Angels, and Lamentation. Heidi studied under the direction of Benjamin Harkarvy at The Juilliard School, US where she received her BFA in Dance with academic honours in 2001 and was awarded the Martha Hill Prize, the highest honor given to a dance graduate. Prior to her training at The Juilliard School, Heidi received her high school diploma from The Virginia School of the Arts, US where she was awarded the Van Lewis Award for Excellence and the Coca-Cola Scholarship for Academic and Artistic Merit.

Heidi is featured in the DVD For Dancers: The Alexander Technique with Jane Kosminsky and the PBS Television production American Masters on Juilliard. In 2007, John Deane and Nan Deane Cano published Heidi’s dance portrait and essays in their photography album Acts of Light: Martha Graham of the 21st Century. She was included in VOGUE Magazine’s “Top 50 Best Dressed Women of 2004” and has had numerous dance reviews in prestigious periodicals such as The New York Times and Dance Magazine. She has performed with renowned artists such as Yoyo Ma, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Isaac Perlman, Wynton Marsalis, and Christine Dakin, and has been supported in her creative work by designers Diane von Furstenburg and Ralph Lauren, as well as real estate guru Donald Trump.

In addition to her dance credentials, Heidi holds an MA in Arts Administration from Columbia University in New York City, and a Certification in Mediation and Conflict Resolution. In 2008, she co-founded Plastic Projects in Bali, Indonesia, a dance collaborative that seeks to produce works inclusive of traditional Indonesian dance and western dance forms.
