Arts school students get $12m boost from Ngee Ann
The Ngee Ann Kongsi is doing its bit for the next generation of Singapore 's dancers, artists and musicians with a $12 million gift to pay for scholarships at SOTA. The money will be used to fund eight scholarships and 49 bursaries this year.

Although SOTA has only been in session for three months, close to a quarter of its students have received scholarships and bursaries in recognition of their excellence in the arts and academics. Ten students have received scholarships and 49 received bursaries this year.

SOTA has received a S$12 million donation from the Ngee Ann Kongsi foundation, for scholarships and bursaries given out over six years. The donation is a recognition of the students' talents and will also ensure that even those facing financial difficulties will be able to realise their creative potential.

Super girls—The dancer, Iswarya Jayakumar
SOTA dance student Iswarya Jayakumar is featured among other girls in Her World, as part of a feature to celebrate International Women's Day. Iswarya is one of the most promising classical Indian dancers in Singapore and has over 200 stage performances under her belt, including representing Singapore at the 26th Bali Arts Festival in 2004.
