WOHA was conferred the President’s Design Award for its architectural design of the School of the Arts building. This design award was launched by President S R Nathan on 14 November 2005. This award is Singapore’s most prestigious design accolade, which consists of two award categories, namely, Designer of the Year and Design of the Year.

It aims to recognize design excellence in all design industries such as advertising design and visual communications, architecture and urban design, fashion design, furniture design, interior design, landscape design, product and industrial design. This award is conferred by the President of the Republic of Singapore, and is jointly administered by Design Singapore Council and Urban Redevelopment Authority.
