Technical Theatre Showcase by SOTA Year 3 Theatre Students

The theatre course at SOTA is a holistic one that does not cover acting alone. Students also have exposure to technical theatre. After going through an intensive 2-week course, SOTA Year 3 theatre students created a 10-minute performance piece without the use of performers and entirely from lighting, sound and audio visual equipment. The course gave the students the opportunity to realise a production from conception to performance. They worked in small production teams in order to replicate real world situations as much as possible. The students also sourced and edited all their own media, rigged and programmed the lighting, and operated the technical equipment for the performance. The result was a stimulating and engaging show that was an audio visual feast.
