• Having established her career in the United States, Dr. Christina Tan (Faculty of Music) in her homecoming concert performed some of her piano compositions as well as Chopin's works at SMU Arts and Culture Centre on 12 September 2010.
  • Liao Jiekai (Faculty of Media Education) represented Singapore to participate in the Youth Forum for the 2nd World Conference on Arts Education, co-organised by UNESCO and Korea Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. In succession to the 1st world conference, the 2nd world conference themed Arts for Society, Education for Creativity, is held 25 - 28 May 2010 in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
  • A collaboration between artists, “On the String” is a multi-disciplinary performance at Singapore Arts Festival 2010 conceived and directed by Dr Joyce Koh (Head, Faculty of Music, 2007-2010). Dirk Stromberg (Faculty of Music) looks into sound art and instrument design, and Khiew Huey Chian (Faculty of Visual Arts) oversees sculpture-installation.
  • Liao Jiekai (Faculty of Media Education) directed "Red Dragonflies", a feature length film produced by local film initiative, 13 Little Pictures. "Red Dragonflies" has since competed at film festivals in Hong Kong and Buenos Aires, and has also won the Special Jury Prize at the 11th Jeonju International Film Festival in May 2010.
  • Pon Sundararaju's (Faculty of Mother Tongue Languages) short story “What A Life” was chosen for inclusion in the National Library Board's compilation of short stories “Dreams and Choices" by prominent writers, as part of NLB's Read Singapore! 2009 Campaign. The compilation was distributed to the public and schools.
  • SOTA Ceramics Specialist Jessie Lim’s new work was featured in an exhibition titled ‘Wonder’, as part of the Singapore Art Show 2009. Click here for more details.
